Death is an inescapable reality. The ultimate equalizer among mortals, much like shit itself. Grounded in this raw, nihilistic philosophy, the duo K.P. and J. Witchfvkker return to drag the underground back into the filth. Following an initial demo (K.P. solo), Allegory of Death releases a promotional tape that serves as a grim harbinger of a larger upcoming work.
On this release, the duo crafts a sound defined by old-school and proto black metal. While old-school black metal is the most fitting general term, the promo leans heavily into proto black metal and first-wave black metal, channeling the primitive, dark energy of the pioneers.
The sound is primitive and raw, completely stripped of modern polished production techniques. The promo thrives on dirty production, simple yet crushing riffs, unrefined drumming, and occult keys.
Allegory of Death refuses to be neatly boxed into a single subgenre, preferring instead to invoke the obscure and sinister spirit of early European black metal. This promo is an atmospheric, uncompromising, and filthy calling card that bodes well for their upcoming full-length. If this release is any indication, a truly dark mass awaits us.
